How it works (simple explanation)

A flow meter installed in the pipeline measures the instantaneous flow rate (e.g., liters per minute or kg per hour).

The flow totalizer:

  • Receives the flow signal (pulse, 4–20 mA, or digital signal).
  • Converts the signal into engineering units.
  • Continuously integrates (adds up) the flow rate over time.
  • Displays the accumulated total flow (e.g., total liters, cubic meters, or kilograms).

In simple terms:

  • Flow rate tells you how fast fluid is moving.
  • Flow totalizer tells you how much fluid has passed in total.

Installation

Installation Guidelines:

  • Mount in control panel or field enclosure.
  • Connect input signal from flow transmitter (pulse or 4–20 mA).
  • Provide stable power supply (typically 24 VDC or 220 VAC).
  • Configure scaling parameters (flow range and units).
  • Set reset, alarm, or batch parameters if required.
  • Connect communication lines (Modbus/RS485) if used.

Important:
Proper grounding and shielding of signal cables is recommended to avoid noise interference.
