How it works (simple explanation)
A globe control valve works by moving a plug (disc) up and down inside the valve body.
- When the valve stem lifts the plug away from the seat, fluid flows through the valve.
- When the plug moves closer to the seat, the flow is reduced.
- When the plug fully contacts the seat, the flow stops completely.
The movement of the plug is typically controlled by an actuator (pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic) that receives signals from a control system to regulate flow precisely.
